what i’ve been listening to

leave a comment

It’s been a while since I last wrote here and I apologize for it.

Well, here’re some mixes I’ve been really enjoying lately:

Claude Young Live @ Dommune, Tokyo – 16-05-2010: a new two and half hour mix from Claude Young, recorded live at Dommune in Tokyo last week. That’s what DJing is all about, nuff said.

Takasi Nakajima, 2010.415: another nice one from the Cynet-Media camp – an hour of deep techno from Takasi Nakajima. For fans of Orlando Voorn’s NightVision imprint, don’t forget to check out his latest mix that features material from NightVision.

Quince Live @ Awakenings 04-04-2010: Bram Sluiter really nails it with this shit. Quality.

LWE Podcast 50: Mike Huckaby: a killer mix from Detroit’s own Mike Huckaby.

Last but not least: The Black Dog Drifting and Sometimes: two beautiful ambient DJ mixes from tBd who just released a brilliant ambient album on Soma Records.

aux 88 interview

Aux 88 are set to release a new EP entitled "Black Tokyo" in February.

Aux 88 have always remained true to their roots of the music, having forged a particularly distinctive and original musical style, thus managing to avoid being identified with any particular scene. Deeply rooted yet always futuristic, their sound is as relevant today as it has ever been — it displays a confidence and maturity few contemporary techno producers can match — there is no doubt that Aux 88 have defined themselves as two of the key players in the development of electronic music as we know it today.

Electronic Directory caught up with Keith Tucker and Tommy Hamilton to find out about the project, the plans for Puzzlebox Records.
