![[ MM 148 ]](http://www.electronicdir.jp/wp-content/uploads/imgs/jkt_mm-148.jpg)
I am a fan of everything Sam Geiser has done with Music Man, and I think this is the best thing he’s done to date. So simple but insistently brilliant. - Jeff Mills – The Drummer [Purpose Maker]

More Mills(art) loveliness. - Trish Van Eynde – Subject Belgium [Subject Detroit]

5 novelties (* all in promo status.)
- Jolka – The Jolka Experience [Sect] / Davor O. – Transitional Objects Remixes [Matrix]
![[ Matrix 20 ]](http://www.electronicdir.jp/wp-content/uploads/imgs/jkt_matrix-20.jpg)
10/10 (The Jolka Experience). No need to say more… "Transitional Objects Remixes" is a simply awesome package of mixes. This is the best thing Matrix has done in a while. - Traxx – Faith [Nation]
![[ NAT-007 ]](http://www.electronicdir.jp/wp-content/uploads/imgs/jkt_nat-007.jpg)
Classic, great forward thinking house music. Jack your body !! - (A guy from D) – (A track on A-Side) [(An UK label)]
(I can’t tell you any details yet……) That D guy returns to an UK quality techno label with sweet, sweet techno stuff. This is what Detroit techno soul is all about. - Rennie Foster – Songs For Homeless Housers [Greta Cottage Workshops]
![[ GCW 003 ]](http://www.electronicdir.jp/wp-content/uploads/imgs/jkt_gcw-003.jpg)
Foster goes house in his own fashion. ‘Butterfingers’ is a really amazing tune, just class production all the way. - Mick Welch – Morphological Construct EP [Elektrosouls]
![[ ESR-001 ]](http://www.electronicdir.jp/wp-content/uploads/imgs/jkt_esr-001.jpg)
Reminiscent of B12’s work, great melodic stabby winner on new Crawley-based label to definitely look out for.

The first record I ever bought – back when I was 14 years old. I must have listened to this stuff a thousand times back then. ‘Ladies & Gentlemen’ sounded like nothing else I had heard before and I still love it. C2 always makes my day. - 69 – Lite Music [Planet E]

featured label historia y violencia
Nov 22nd

Sandwell District’ man-of-the-moment, Juan Mendez (aka Silent Servant) and a half of Ican, Santiago Salazar team up to set up a new record label, "Historia y Violencia" (History and Violence). Historia y Violencia’ sound sits somewhere in between Berlin and Detroit, with a large dose of futuristic funk and deepness. Electronic Directory talks both Silent Servant and Santiago Salazar to find out what we can expect from them.

Erell Ranson – Where The Clouds Are [MySelf Recordings]
Erell Ranson gets deep on his own MySelf imprint, and he just keeps getting better. ‘A Different Light’ is a really nice, deep electro-tinged thing which he splices with spooky bass lines and emotional synth lines. On the flip, Paul Mac has remixed for ‘A Different Light’ that will take the track onto any floors. Finally, ‘Where The Clouds Are’ is in the same vein but with a more melodic feel. Another very good release !

- A1. A Different Light
- B1. A Different Light (Paul Mac remix)

Lee Holman – Travelling EP [Mowar]

Ireland’s young gun Lee Holman takes on a melodic voyage on the Mowar thing. A good, well-rounded package – Very playable / versatile. Very atmospheric / gorgeous. Driving without speeding, deep without being impenetrable. ‘Depart’ is the one for me here, an epic journey that is right up my street. Hurrah !

- A1. Depart

Matt Chester – Endless Days [11th Hour]
![[ ehr-006 ]](http://www.electronicdir.jp/wp-content/uploads/imgs/jkt_ehr-0061.jpg)
11th Hour at its finest. Matt Chester is back on his home and in fine form. ‘Cold Restraint’ is exactly what I love about techno – it features his trademark Detroit-influenced lush pads and melodies, floating / ebbing over rough beats. Yes, yes yes and yes !! On the A-side, ‘Kick It’ comes in original stellar electro funk and a fantastic DJ 3000 remix. Motech head honcho DJ 3000 excels with an epic interpretation that is simply outstanding. All in all a top notch package.
Tracklisting:
- A1. Kick It
- A2. Kick It (DJ 3000’s Motech remix)
- B1. Cold Restraint
- B2. Down & Out In EC2

Santiago Salazar / Silent Servant – Santuario / Lo Profundo [Historia y Violencia]
Santiago Salazar and Silent Servant have launched a brand new label, Historia y Violencia (History and Violence). This release in particular stuck out for me because of the Hard Wax-ish qualities and deep and dark atmosphere, which segues neatly into the Historia y Violencia signature track with its many influences worn lightly and blended successfully. Santiago drops a heavy minimal-techno with a twisted groove, which builds into pure electronic madness. Silent Servant brings a proper deep and dubby techno, which draws you right in from the start. Excellent.

- 01. Santiago Salazar – Santuario
- 02. Silent Servant – Lo Profundo
